Micromax has launched Canvas Dual 5 in India at a price of Rs 24,999 MRP. Micromax Dual 5 is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 652 Octacore processor and comes with 4GB of ram. Main highlight of this phone is the Dual 13MP rear cameras and also a 13MP front selfie camera with flash.

Micromax Dual 5 Specs and Features
Qualcomm Snapdragon 652 has been out for a while now. Last year's Xiaomi Mi Max Prime 128GB is powered by the same processor. This is a mid range processor and performs quite well. There is 4GB of ram and 128GB of storage.
The display is a 5.5 inch Full HD AMOLED one with 2.5D glass and Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection. Dual 5 has an all metal body, giving it a premium look and feel.
In the camera department, there are Dual 13MP pixel cameras with Dual tone flash. One sensor captures the color, while the other is a monochrome sensor. This is nothing new, older smartphones from Huawei Honor - Honor 8, Huawei P9 etc have a similar setup. There is a 13MP camera on the front as well, with Dual tone flash for your awesome selfies.
The rear camera has an F1.8 aperture lens, which is will sure help to get in more light and should help take better blur free pictures in low light conditions. Micromax is introducing a new camera app with manual controls with this smartphone - ie you can now manually adjust things like ISO, Shutterspeed, White balance etc. There is also a blurry mode, which will help you take pictures with background blur aka bokeh. 4K recording is supported.
You can create a secret dual profile to store private photos, files and messages, with SecureVault technology on Dual 5. The information stays invisible in normal mode and can be unlocked only with your unique fingerprint.
Micromax Dual 5 is shipping with older Android 6 Marshmallow based operating system, which is a shame. It's been a while since Android 7 Nougat has been out. In the battery department, there is a 3200mAh one with Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0 fast charging support. It has a USB Type C port.
So Micromax Dual 5 is priced at Rs 24,999 in India - is it worth buying for that price ? Is it value for money ? If you are buying this for the camera, I would suggest you to wait for some 'REAL' camera reviews before spending your money on this. This doesn't have a flagship processor like OnePlus 3T ( Snapdragon 821 ) which is priced at Rs 29,999 nor does it ship with latest Android 7.1 Nougat out of the box.
However, it comes with Anti theft feature, Dual Profile switching with Finger print, Secure chip for storing passwords and fingerprints, Dual rear cameras, 13MP front camera with flash etc which are not seen in other devices in this price range.
