Sony has launched Xperia XZs in India at a price of Rs 49,999 ( pre-order on Flipkart ). Earlier launched Xperia XZ have similar specs - hence the similar name and is now selling for a cheaper price online on Flipkart ( click here ) and Amazon India ( click here ). Both have Gorilla Glass protection. On Xperia XZ, it is explicitly menitioned Gorilla Glass 4 while on the newer Xperia XZs it just says Gorilla Glass. So it's not sure which version this have. Both these flagship sony phones feature ALKALEIDO metal back that gives a premium feel and look.
Xperia XZ ships with Android 6 Marshmallow, which can be upgraded to Nougat. Xperia XZs ships with Android 7 Nougat. XZ only has 3GB of ram, while new XZs has 4GB ram.
Both have 64GB of internal memory and support OTG. There is an Sdcard slot that supports up to 256GB, however it's a hybrid sim slot.
In the camera department, Xperia XZ launched earlier sports a 23MP rear camera and a 13MP front camera. On newer Xperia XZs, you get a 19MP rear camera and a 13MP front camera. Both support 4K recording and slow mo videos. However on the newer Xperia XZs, you can record ultra slow mo videos at 960fps in 720HD which is great. Even Apple iPhone 7 or Galaxy S8 or Google Pixel can't do that.
In the batter department, both these phones do not feature a massive battery. Both have a 2900mAh one with Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0 support. Like every other Sony smartphone, you get Stamina mode to extend the battery backup.
