Huawei has just launched Honor 9 Lite on Flipkart India. One other entry level Android phone launched recently by Huawei Honor in India is Honor 7X. Both have a few features in common. Check out the detailed specs comparison between Honor 9 Lite and Honor 7X below.
Processor / Chipset : Both are powered by Huawei's onw Kirin 659 octa core processor. So overall performance would be identical between these devices.
Price : Honor 9 Lite 3GB ram 32GB variant is priced at Rs 10,999. Honor 7X on the other hand do not have a 3GB ram variant. The 4GB ram 32GB Honor 7X sell for Rs 12,999 on Amazon.in. 4GB ram 64GB variant of both these phones sell for Rs 14,999. Huawei has done a great job in pricing these devices perfectly.
Build Quality : Honor 9 Lite has 2.5D glass on the front as well as on the back. Honor 7X on the other hand has a metallic back which some prefer over the glass.
Display : 7X features a bigger 5.9 inch display with 18:9 screen ration. Honor 9 Lite too has an 18:9 bezel less screen, however it is slightly smaller at 5.6 inches.
Operating System : Honor 9 lite has a clear advantage here as it ships with EMUI 8 based on Android 8 Oreo. 7X on the other hand ships with EMUI 5.1 based on Android 7 Nougat. It is expected to get an OTA update ot EMUI 8 in future.
Battery : 7X has a bigger 3340mAh battery while Honor 9 Lite only has a 3000mAh one on board. Both are non-removable.
Camera : Both 7X and Honor 9 Lite feature Dual rear cameras. On the 7X, you get a 16MP sensor along with a 2MP sensor to create depth effects and portrait mode. On the Honor 9 Lite, it has a smaller megapixel rear camera - 12MP + 2MP combination. 7X only has a single front camera - an 8MP one while Honor 9 Lite got a Dual camera setup on the front as well - a 12MP + 2MP combination.
So which one to buy ?
If you have buttery fingers and have a tendency to drop your phone often, Honor 9 Lite is gonna be a bad choice to own as it has glass on the back as well. Using a case is highly recommended. Lookwise, both are great, however, reflective glass back gives Honor 9 Lite a more premium look and feel. If you want a bigger screen and a more powerful battery, Honor 7X is the right choice to go for.
